ASBIS supports first multimedia laboratory based on Apple solutions in Belarus

Minsk (Belarus), November 27, 2009 -- First multimedia laboratory based on Apple solutions opened yesterday in the City of Minsk Institute of the Development of Education.

Operation of the laboratory is a first step in the network of international educational project realization which is supported by Apple and ASBISc Enterprises Plc., Apple Value Added Distributor in CIS countries. This project will help to implement leading IT-technologies by Apple into Belarus educational system based on their applicability and value in modern learning environment. The laboratory will become the first in Belarus member of Apple international Regional Training Center community and provide training program for secondary teachers to promote creativity and improve pupils learning opportunities on Apple teaching solutions.

Operation of multimedia laboratory is based on Apple hardware which includes ten "all-in-one" iMacs for trainees with wireless Internet connection, two MacBooks for trainers and additional equipment for shooting and presenting digital content. Educational curriculum of the laboratory provides courses in Mac OS X operating system and iLife '09 suite which includes five digital lifestyle applications iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, GarageBand and iWeb. Participants of the courses will learn the basics of photo- and video editing, multimedia DVD production, podcasting and easy web-sites creation. Greater resort to modern educational technologies will help teachers promote creativity in the classroom, develop pupil's intellectual creative work, make children's research activities more versatile and enthralling.
