Asbis Bulgaria gets Microsoft rights

Sofia (Bulgaria), May 13, 2009ASBIS, a leading supplier of computer components and finished goods to the EMEA emerging markets, has signed an OEM Distributor Channel Agreement with Microsoft. The new agreement licenses ASBIS to distribute Microsoft software products to channel partners in Bulgaria.

According to the Agreement, ASBIS has been granted a license to supply Microsoft® software, including operating systems, Office and Server software as well as Microsoft’s hardware to Bulgaria’s system builders as well as to Asbis Bulgaria customers across European Union countries.  The agreement extends the portfolio of Asbis Bulgaria, adding the products of Microsoft as an authorized distributor and partners the opportunity to order the entire range of Microsoft products, including OEM-products from one supplier.

“We are extremely pleased with our new status as a Microsoft OEM distribution partner,” said Mitko Topalov, ASBIS’ regional director for Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania and Macedonia. “We are positive that this agreement will bring increased benefits to our customers. It means that when our customers purchase Microsoft software, they can be comfortable that they will receive a legally distributed product and top level technical support. On top of that, they can save their time by buying all necessary computer components in one place.”

"The new partnership, announced today is another example of the interest and commitment of Microsoft to Bulgarian PC assemblers and system integrators" said Danchev Ognian, director of Microsoft in the OEM segment in Bulgaria. "We will do everything possible for various Windows, Office and Windows Server products are readily available for Bulgarian IT companies and their customers."

Under the terms of the new agreement Asbis Bulgaria becomes an authorized distributor of products for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), including Windows, Office, and server hardware products to Microsoft.

This Agreement complements the existing relationship between Microsoft and ASBIS, which already covers Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Romania, Slovakia and Croatia.
OEM-contract signing and receiving Official / Authorized OEM Distributor status is evidence of high professionalism of Asbis in the field of software distribution in Bulgaria.
