DELL GREEN CHALLENGE
What is Dell Green Challenge?
Dell “Green Challenge” was selected as the name for the incentive scheme in order to reflect Dell’s position as one of the world’s leading Green IT companies. “Green Challenge” is an incentive scheme that is administered entirely online and is to be initially accessed via the Dell PartnerDirect portal at The Dell Green Challenge. To register for this programme you must first be an approved Dell partner. For more details please go to: www.dell.com/partnerdirect.Why have an Incentive Programme?
Recognising the contribution of partners is essential to the success of every business. The objective of this incentive programme is to provide Dell’s 2nd Tier Resellers (T2) with an incentive to purchase Intel-based Dell products from Dell Certified T1 Resellers (T1). As its community of T2 partners in the Middle East grows, Dell wants to reward and recognise them for selling Intel-based Dell branded products.2nd Tier Reseller” means a company (which is not a group company or an affiliate of a 1st Tier Reseller) purchasing qualifying product directly from any 1st Tier Reseller in the Territory.
“1st Tier Reseller” means a company who has entered into a Dell International Distributor Agreement or such other agreement as may be applicable with Dell Emerging Markets (EMEA) Limited ('Dell') – for the Middle East covering the Territory which sells products purchased from Dell direct to 2nd Tier Resellers and who has entered into the Agreement with Dell.
Who is eligible to take part?
All T2 resellers who have qualified as one of the following will be eligible to join the incentive programme: Dell Registered Partner or Dell Certified Commercial Partner. A company can participate in either the Dell T1 rebate or T2 Incentive programme only, depending on whether they purchase from Dell direct or from a T1 Partner. It is not permissible for a partner to participate in both.
How does Dell Green Challenge work?
Once the 2nd Tier Reseller has been approved to take part in the Program by Dell, each 2nd Tier Reseller is required to register the Dell TAG number of the qualifying Dell products purchased via the Dell Certified 1st Tier Reseller. The Dell TAG number (which can be found on the outside of the Dell product box and is 7-digit's in length) must be registered on the Green Challenge website via the 'My Dell Sales' section. This must be done on a monthly basis in order to qualify for the Monetary Incentive (provided other terms and conditions of the Program are met). Dell or any company acting on its behalf will then consolidate the information on a quarterly basis.
T2 resellers can track their individual rewards by viewing their statements online. To qualify for a quarterly incentive payment / credit, the participating 2nd Tier Reseller must meet the minimum threshold of systems sold. Please refer to the Incentive table on the Dell Green Challenge website for details of the minimum attainment levels for the various product groups that qualify.
Claims can be made as soon as a system is purchased by simply recording the product type and tag number under My Dell Sales. Purchases registered between November 1st 2008 and January 31st 2009 (both dates inclusive) will be eligible. (Note this only includes products that have been purchased by Dell 1st Tier Resellers directly from Dell after August 2nd 2008).How do Partners receive their incentives?
On attainment of the minimum threshold, quarterly payments / credits will be made via a participating Dell Certified 1st Tier Reseller or a third party. If you purchase Dell products from more than one 1st Tier Reseller, then payments / credits may be received from more than one 1st Tier Reseller or from a third party. Companies that forward the Monetary Incentive on behalf of Dell may ask you to enter into an agreement in relation to the Monetary Incentive.
Where a Participating 2nd Tier Reseller is obtaining the Monetary Incentive from Dell through a 1st Tier Reseller, the 2nd Tier Reseller may only be entitled to a payment /credit if they enter into an agreement with the 1st Tier Reseller in relation to the Monetary Incentive (where applicable). The participating 1st Tier Reseller may credit 2nd Tier Resellers account or offset the amount against any monies due to the 1st Tier Reseller from which you have purchased Dell product. Subject to such agreement between the 1st Tier Reseller and the 2nd Tier Reseller and any local accounting rules, the 2nd Tier Resellers can expect to receive a credit / payment from their 1st Tier Reseller within 60 days of the end of the qualifying quarter. What happens if the incentive payment is not made?
Dell maintains a full reporting system on incentive payments due to T2 resellers. In the unlikely event that a valid incentive payment is not made, Dell will contact the relevant T1 reseller. At the end of each quarter, Dell will ask T2 resellers to confirm that they have received incentives due to them from their T1 reseller. Should any issues or concerns arise, there is the option to raise a query on the incentive programme website.Tag number conflicts
If a T2 reseller attempts to register a duplicate tag number, an error message will be received stating the following:
“The Dell Sales tab number XXXXXXXX has already been claimed. You cannot record this sale. If you purchased the equipment from an authorised Dell T1 partner and have not already claimed this tag number, please refer to number 14 in the FAQ section”.
The situation will then be investigated by the administrative team to establish which entry is valid. Only products that are purchased in the Middle East through our participating T1 resellers, and sold through T2 resellers registered for this programme, are eligible to be included in the scheme.Information
